Links and promises

Clearly I need to get these photos on Flikr. There are, ahem, 263 photos tagged "Manchester Graffiti".

There should be a new bunch of photos at the weekend. I need to get better ones of those space invaders - I'm not doing them justice!

Meanwhile, look at xoooox. It's gorgeous. Clicking the chronology button is the button to be clicking.

(Found through kabakuba, which has beautiful pictures of a non-graffitistic nature).

Four more space invaders! So, clockwise from top left; Union jack space invader near the hairdressers on the way from market street to the CIS; Large inverse space invader on Faraday Street (off Lever Street), Yellow out-of-focus space invader above withy grove stores sort of round the back of the Printworks; and lastly one right on the front of an old bank on the corner of Princess Street and Portland Street. Posted by Picasa

Recent sightings

Recently seen on the streets of Mancunia:
- three ceramic remote controls stuck to walls on oxford road. What on earth is that all about?
- A realistic fake street sign on oldham street, with a frog outline in one corner. It could have been there for years for all I know. I've seen a lot of stickers with a similar design recently, blank except for a little frog's head in the corner, but a proper street sign tied to a lamp post is a good effort.

I'll load pics of those up soon (as long as I catch them before they are removed by the sinister anti-art authorities).

Oh yeah, and Wooster has fresh stuff from mr eggs. Don't know where it is though.

Moving space invader, Back Picadilly, September 2005. I think this is the fourth space invader on MCR marks. There are four more I've spotted, and I haven't bought the map... yet.Posted by Picasa

Make Property History, Jersey Street, September 2005. Obviously this is a kind of communist pun on the Make Poverty History campain (and a pretty good one, especially for all of us who are sick of boring, identical flats for wealthy young professionals springing up in our gentrifying neighbourhoods. There's no reason why the city centre needs to be reserved for the posh, y'know.)Posted by Picasa
